Uncle Block's Torch of Freedom
I have decided to do something different .... I am going to include the following Youtube video on all of my pages even though it takes up a lot of space at the top of the page. This man, Pat Condell, is, in my opinion, someone who needs to be heard. Watch the video. If you think what he is saying makes sense make sure you watch all of his videos on YouTube. As far as I am concerned this man is a breath of fresh air in a world of political and superstitious bullshit that seems to be flooding our world more than ever these days.

Stoned Man!March 16, 2005 Cowardly Statists Harass the Weak Why Didn't You Tell Me?I'll never forget the time I got a guy who claimed he was in a big hurry because he was late for work. He had been on quite a bender apparently, but it was time to get back to reality. And what a version of reality it turned out to be. The guy wanted me to take him to Rheem Canada, down off of Barton Street West. When we arrived there were no cars parked in the employee parking lot. The guy was dumbfounded. "Where is everybody?" he wondered aloud. He finally turned to me and asked me what day it was... I told him it was Sunday. "Sunday! Why the hell didn't you tell me?" he said. Turned out, he thought it was Monday morning. Yup, that was some bender. I made sure that rest of my passengers that evening knew what day it was. Short Trip to TorontoThen there was the drunk I picked up at one of the north end shit-hole bars who proceeded to pass out as soon as he hit the seat. It was one of those evenings a concert or something was held at Copps coliseum. Whenever one of these concerts ends we witness a tribute to city planning in the form of massive traffic jams in the area as everyone attempts to drive home simultaneously. Not realizing a concert had just concluded I ended up stuck in traffic along King Street, in front of the Sheraton hotel, when the guy woke up. He took one look at the traffic and exclaimed, "What the hell are we doing in Toronto!" He was only a few blocks from home but try as I might I could not convince him that we were in fact stuck in traffic on King Street. I can't remember whether he paid for the trip to that point but he got out of the taxi right there on King Street. I guess he either booked a room right there at the Sheraton or walked to the bus terminal to buy a ticket back to Hamilton. Are you a cab driver? Do you carry a cellphone to get a little extra business directly from your passengers? If so, you may want to get some business cards printed with your cellphone number on them.
