Uncle Block's Torch of Freedom
I have decided to do something different .... I am going to include the following Youtube video on all of my pages even though it takes up a lot of space at the top of the page. This man, Pat Condell, is, in my opinion, someone who needs to be heard. Watch the video. If you think what he is saying makes sense make sure you watch all of his videos on YouTube. As far as I am concerned this man is a breath of fresh air in a world of political and superstitious bullshit that seems to be flooding our world more than ever these days.

Legalization, the only Rational ChoiceNovember 28, 2004Letters Editor The Toronto SUN Dear Madam/Sir: RE: Your comment that legalization of marijuana is not a choice: Sorry! You are wrong! It's THE only RATIONAL choice. Any further persecutions will only increase the price; hence, the profits and the people trying to make that fast million, that they would probably never make any other way. The ONLY rational way to stop this is to allow people to grow all that they want - like tomatoes! Then the artificially created, ridiculously over inflated and over evaluated price of pot - typically $1000 per plant - estimated by police, who have a vested interest in keeping pot illegal because it means their jobs And an easy one! Pot should be no different in price than a typical tomato plant. It takes the same amount of effort and skill to grow tomatoes as it does to grow pot. This invites any average backyard gardener to try their luck. For a million dollars, it's worth anyone's risk - especially if the statistics that you quote are accurate; only 1 per cent see jail. Articles like this only exacerbate the situation and encourages more people to set up grow houses. Most, by the way is not - as the Police would have you believe - by 'organized crime' - though that is a catch all phrase and can mean anything from the Mafia (which we all know doesn't exist) to 'bikers' to various ethnic/nationalistic groups: Korean, Vietnamese, Arab. etc. The Le Dane Commission in 1970; other studies including Senator Moran's commission of a few years ago, all came up with this 'SOLUTION' - only to be ignored by lawyer-politicians who like the police have a vested interest in keeping pot illegal. The Government getting out of the 'pot biz' and freeing the 'weed' is the ONLY rational way to stop the traffic in pot. If you need any more proof of this - simply show me where there is an illegal market in tomatoes! If pot were the same price as tomatoes, only the users would grow a few plants for themselves - which SHOULD be protected in the Constitution under "Individual Liberty" - it the Constitution were worth the paper it's printed on! There would be no profit motive for pot and pot wouldn't sell for a thousand dollars a plant. No other plant, with the possible exception of certain new horticultural specimens are worth that kind of money - like $5000.00 (and more) for pure bred champion, cats or dogs. But a pot plant worth a thousand! Ridiculous! An ounce of pot valued the same as an ounce of gold! Ridiculous! Do you gave any idea of how much Human effort and natural resources it requires to produce an ounce of pure gold? A hell of a lot more than it does to produce one pot plant! Why is this so difficult for so many people to realize, besides the ones as mentioned above, who have vested interests in keeping pot illegal, that is; the lawyers/politicians/police AND CRIMINALS! This SHOULD tell you something - that the Police/Government/lawyers are on the same side of the issue as those they label 'criminals': all have vested interests in keeping pot illegal. Get it? Put the Police back to doing honest Police work and we wont need to hire more cops and increase taxes to further chase our own tails! In the mean time, keep up the good work ENCOURAGING more and more people to become millionaires! Every grow up house in your paper with estimates of $1000 per plant to millions per house only encourages more people to take the risk. And the Police will go on complaining that they can't keep up with the 'grow ops' and you'll show more pictures of would-be millionaires in your paper. And round and round we go...... Good job! Sincerely, Evangelos XRISTOS Hamilton, CANADA (an ex cop)
