Uncle Block's Torch of Freedom

I have decided to do something different .... I am going to include the following Youtube video on all of my pages even though it takes up a lot of space at the top of the page. This man, Pat Condell, is, in my opinion, someone who needs to be heard.

Watch the video. If you think what he is saying makes sense make sure you watch all of his videos on YouTube.

As far as I am concerned this man is a breath of fresh air in a world of political and superstitious bullshit that seems to be flooding our world more than ever these days.

The Passion of BS and Other Myths

September 12, 2004

from a letter to the editor of the Toronto Sun.

by Evangelos XRISTOS
Hamilton, CANADA

In the words of that great Christian, Saint Augustine, "Since God has spoken to us it is no longer necessary for us to think."

Brother! Mister Coren's re-review of Gibson's 'The Passion' is laughable were he not serious. This movie carries on the tradition of promoting a myth to fountainhead of morality, when in fact Christianity has been the most immoral force on the Earth.

"At the center of the Christian Dark Ages stood the Bible. This fabricated compendium of garbled history, borrowed mythology, genocidal conflict and pious platitudes was elevated as the font of all wisdom, even as the bonfires set by Christian zealots reduced the science of a millennium to ash. In the new Christian tyranny all scientific thought which contradicted the Bible was suppressed. If rationality and observation contradicted the "revealed Word of God" then it was rationality and the observer who were in error."

"Several versions of the Sumerian Flood story have been found over the years, all of them pre-dating the Bible…the flood story in the Bible is obviously a legend, and a borrowed and garbled one at that." Magnus Magnusson (The Archaeology of the Bible Lands-BC, pp21-23)

The facts are that there is no proof that the Jesus of the Bible ever existed. In fact, if anyone cares to read the manuscripts that the Old Testament and New Testament are founded upon, it is quite clear that they are all self-serving attempts to raise the early 'Church in Rome to prominence. None of the 4 Gospels were written at the scene of the crucifixion and it is very clear that the apostle Paul never even met the fictional character of Jesus. Reading the 'minutes' of the many early Christian Bishops etc. is most enlightening. The one thing that is abundantly clear is that the early Christian sects were at war as to which was the 'kosher' one. This came to its zenith when the Church (Pope) in Rome challenged the authority of Constantinople.

From the time of Constantine and for 1700 years since, the crimes committed by the Catholic church and the corrupt men who became Popes is all chronicalled beyond any shadow of a doubt in their own records - unlike the various myths that make up the stories in the Bible - all based on Pagan stories that came far earlier than the rise of the Jesus cult or the Jewish cult for that matter. The Bible is and never was anything more than an instrument of 'Empire building' by various 'men-who-would-be-kings'. The miscogeny atributed to Islam today ran as deep in Christianity. The evidence is there for anyone with a half a brain in that so few women are to this day not allowed to become priests, Bishops. ministers etc. Even the elevation of Mary as Mother of God son was debated for years by early Christians. How do you rationalize a woman married to a mortal man giving birth to the 'Son of God'.

"The Christians have always lied - and one of their biggest lies remains that of "blaming the barbarians" for the destruction of ancient civilisation which they themselves caused. "

The crimes and immorality of the Medici and Borgias and many other popes as well are documented and unlike Jesus - they are not myths. It was the enlightenment; the rebirth of 'logic' and mathematics that led to the Scientific revolution that forced the powerful Christians to moderate their beliefs - but not until after hundreds of years of murder and wars were perpetrated by 'loving' Christians.

Yet there are people like Mister Coren who would base their sense of morality on this most unstable of foundations: Christianity.

Any one that examines the history of the rise of the Christian church with an open mind can not help but come away with a sense of revulsion. Who would want to willingly be called Christian when one knows the 'Truth' to the rise of this murderous, corrupt, anti-woman, and silly, superstitious dogma.

I wonder if these 'believers' realize how laughable their beliefs are? To people of rational thinking they are only marginally less lunatic than Islamic Imams/terrorists who use children as bombs to 'make their point'.

Religious types have been praying to their various versions of 'God'; burning sacrifices to Zeus or Yaweh or eating the body and blood of Christ, there is little difference. It is elevating myths to the zenith and only gets in the way of rational thinking. In fact the two are incompatible: one can not be both rational and Christian (Jewish or Muslim). These three religions have the same roots in Pagan Religions that came before but also add the element of POWER; of politics and control of the Empire that was built by Rome. If Rome was not the centre of power that it was, Christianity never would have had the means to spread like the vile disease that it is and still play such a significant part in modern society.

Belief in Christ is the same as belief in a flat earth! There are many silly (irrational) people that believe both.

"Whether we look at the Middle Ages and the Reformation, the first centuries of the Christian era or even today, Christianity has always been a fabrication, layer set upon layer of lies and nonsense, a fraud from its very inception."

For those not afraid of learning the truth: of getting all of the facts, I suggest you open your minds by reading the various articles at this web site, starting with these:

http://www.jesusneverexisted.com/murderers.htm
http://www.jesusneverexisted.com/burning.html
http://www.jesusneverexisted.com/science.html

And remember, in the words of that great Christian, Saint Augustine, "Since God has spoken to us it is no longer necessary for us to think."
And the Christians have tried time and again to make that their first commandment.
Personally, I don't care if you want to worship the most idiotic, lunatic, of ideas of which Christianity IS - as long as you keep it to yourself and not try to convert the world to these beliefs or mix them up in the matters of the state or to discern right from wrong.  Belief that one's 'God' is the one and only, real 'God' and the right to murder (convert) those who do not hold the same views has been a rallying cry for fanatics of all types including Islamic suicide-bombers (terrorists) as well as Christian crusaders (terrorists) and Spanish  conquistidors (terrorists).
"I cannot imagine a God who rewards and punishes the objects of his creation, whose purposes are modeled after our own - a God, in short, who is but a reflection of human frailty.
Neither can I believe that the individual survives the death of his body, although feeble souls harbor such thoughts through fear or ridiculous egotism."
- Albert Einstein (New York Times, April 19, 1955)
P.S.
As a reaffirmed Catholic, Mister Coren (and anyone else seeking Truth and fairness) should read this link concerning the Bible and the stolen Pagan mythological stories and fables therein, starting with Genesis.

http://www.skepticsannotatedbible.com/gen/index.html

If one goes into it with an open mind and not accept 'faith' but accept evidence, logic: inductive and deductive, anyone with half a brain can see that Christianity and Catholicism in particular is based on lies perpetrated by self-serving would-be monarchs and popes, myscoginists, fools, liars, and ignorant, superstitious 'sheepherders'.

The theory behind representative government is that superior men--or at all events, men not inferior to the average in ability and integrity--are chosen to manage the public business, and that they carry on this work with reasonable intelligence and honesty. There is little support for that theory in the known facts...
