Government Oppression

Talk about government oppression.... where does one begin? How about the cowardly antics of small time politicians picking on the weakest and poorest members of society by interfering with their right to make a living? The politicians of the CITY OF HAMILTON provide a good example when we look at some of their shenanigans as they attempt to impose their view of adequate supply, service and prices in the taxi business.

Speaking of Hamilton politicians, though they are certainly not alone... they have shown no regard for individual rights and freedoms as they appropriate the city's bars and restaurants to impose their version of a politically correct tobacco policy... some heroes attempt to fight back!

In a country where property rights do not appear to exist, the debate over where and when individuals may smoke is settled by majority vote based on individual preferences but, as James Bovard said in one of his books, "Democracy is more than just two wolves and a sheep voting on the supper menu."

Shame on you gutless politicians who subscribe to the "might is right" interpretation of government by the people. Shouldn't there be a line demarcating just where politicians may legitimately concern themselves and where they should just mind their own business? Wouldn't it make sense to position that line somewhere between "public" and private property?
