Job 31969-1972 Sheet Metal WorkerEven though I had lost interest in work, my father ignored my preference for a leisurely existence and basically forced me to work in his sheet metal shop during Saturdays and summer vacations. I made about a million fire dampers, fish collars, sleeve boxes and other assorted artifacts during this period. Funny thing is, looking back now, I didn't really mind working... I just hated the boredom of doing mundane repetitive jobs. Without much else to occupy my mind I began to contemplate the lives of those souls who spend entire careers doing this sort of mind numbing work in order to bring home a paycheque. These considerations were to influence the decisions I made in pursuit of my career path henceforth. Joe Schlockenblock explains, How find a job and Get off Welfare.
