Uncle Block's Torch of Freedom
I have decided to do something different .... I am going to include the following Youtube video on all of my pages even though it takes up a lot of space at the top of the page. This man, Pat Condell, is, in my opinion, someone who needs to be heard. Watch the video. If you think what he is saying makes sense make sure you watch all of his videos on YouTube. As far as I am concerned this man is a breath of fresh air in a world of political and superstitious bullshit that seems to be flooding our world more than ever these days.

Equality without inequality? The people of Canada have, for the most part, decided that equality is more important than liberty. Hence they continue to elect politicians who claim to have the knowledge required to effect the desired state of affairs. Implicit in the whole process is the notion that such knowledge is useless unless coupled with coercive power. This is why liberty and equality are mutually exclusive. Human beings are not equal, never have been and never will be. Any attempt to impose a general equality is doomed from the start because the attempt inevitably involves a fundamental inequality in coercive power. Ignoring this contradiction, egalitarians nevertheless remain hell bent on establishing an egalitarian regime. Another serious drawback in the quest for absolute equality is that nature keeps on producing people who differ from one another in myriads of ways. They differ in intelligence, size, strength, looks, talent, taste and motivation. They differ also in gender, racial origin and disability. The laws of nature even dictate that people must be born and occupy different physical spaces and at different times. In spite of the difficulty inherant in having all of the powers of nature allied against them egalitarians adhere to their fruitless quest. Given that egalitarians can never achieve their goal of total human equality what should we expect from their stubborn insistence on trying? We should expect them to spare no effort in securing for themselves control of the state, without which they cannot legally compel obedience.
