Canadian Rock Band By Divine Right

BY DIVINE RIGHT started nine years ago in Toronto, Canada with singer/songwriter Jose Contreras and friend and drummer Mark Goldstein.

After a cross-Canada arena tour and critical North American success opening for The Tragically Hip, the two initial members went their separate ways.

Jose then jumped into the studio to create the record he's always wanted to make. "Good Morning Beautiful" is a record of hope for the future. The record is a journey through textured guitar sounds and electronic keyboards with Jose's simultaneously mellow and passionate vocals.

Now, with a new line-up of bandmates, Jose is ready to bring their music to the world. "I want to reach as many people as possible" Jose states, unflinchingly. "I want to make music for everyone, to transcend genres and styles. I don't want to fall in this sort of trap of being cool and hip and clever; that's so done. My music is about being real, being human. At times, I feel like I had to go through everything else in life to get here; being embarrassed to be yourself, getting made fun of at recess...I'm at the point in my life where I finally don't care if anyone makes fun of me at recess. And that feels amazing."
